The Rockland County chapter of Habitat for Humanity (which includes the SUNY Rockland Community College Habitat for Humanity Club) would like to announce its annual art auction and fund raising event. As you are probably well aware, Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization that builds and refurbishes homes for people that otherwise could not afford to own their own home.  As you also already know, our next major project will be the SUNY Rockland Community College sponsored seventh house (in Hillburn, NY); we anticipate building to commence in early 2009.

With that said, we need YOUR help!

Our  art auction is to be held on Saturday, May 2nd, at St John's Episcopal Church (365 Strawtown Rd.) in New City at 6pm.  The auction is conducted by Marlin Art. They are from Long Island and have been around since 1969. In addition to art, they auction sports memorabilia, hand blown glass and other collectibles. They also do photo enhancements so if you have an old family photo you would like enlarged, enhanced and framed they will do that.  Several past and current board members have participated in the past and say it is a wonderful evening.

Tickets for the evening are $8.00 each, two for $15 and six for $40 (Patron Status).  Additionally we are looking to sell ads in their program; A full ad page is $100, half is $75, a quarter page is $50 and an eighth of a page is $25. Two complimentary tickets are given out with each ad.  The admission price includes Hors D'oeuvres, dessert and coffee.  I believe wine and other beverages can be purchased.  The food is prepared by members of the congregation and I understand it is excellent.  Please note, you do not have to purchase anything to attend (however, many great items have typically sold for less than 100 dollars).

If you would like to attend, you may e-mail requests to build@habitatrocks.org or by contacting our board members individually!
